Piarco International Airport (POS) is the principle airport for accessing the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and is situated on Trinidad Island, just 27 km / 17 miles from Port of Spain. With passenger figures reaching less than 1.5 million per year, the airport is a relatively quiet facility, although it is still considered as an important regional hub. Since Trinidad is a popular holiday destination, it is no surprise that there is no shortage of hotels located near to the airport.

Many of the most popular hotels on Trinidad can be found around the Port of Spain, the island's capital city, situated on the north-west coastline. A range of accommodation is located along the Port of Spain's appealing waterfront, where hotels stand close to a number of dominating buildings, such as the Eric Williams Plaza twin towers and the Nicholas Tower, the city's tallest building, completed recently in 2003.
